Why might this route suit you?
You will build up your teaching slowly so you won't be dropped in the deep end. To start with you, you will only observe lessons and then you will start to increase how much teaching you lead. Your mentor will be central to your development and so we have committed to their training. Their careful support is also complemented by your Pathway Tutor from the Tes Institute, through their visits each half-term.
Teach... and earn
We know that taking the step into teaching should feel possible for everyone. That’s why there are generous, tax‑free bursaries available for 2026 - paid monthly from October - to support you while you train. These are based on the subject you want to teach, not your degree.
If you want to train in a subject which is not listed such as primary, history, drama or music, there is still financial support available via tuition fee and maintenance loans for which we can advise on your eligibility.
