We know that taking the step into teaching should feel possible for everyone. That’s why there are generous, tax‑free bursaries available for 2026—paid monthly from October—to support you while you train. These are based on the subject you want to teach, not your degree.

£22,000 in French, German and Spanish (no other languages)

Employment Routes – salaried, PGTA

Trainees on this programme are paid a salary of at least point 1 on the unqualified teacher scale. In addition, your school will cover your training costs for QTS.

This gives you the security of employment and a real commitment from your school to provide strong support. You will have a teaching timetable which is reduced to allow time for your training and planning. If you already work in a school, we can speak to them about the funding available to support your training.
